A really old photo, but a good one! This is what Farm & Feast days are all about (well, that and the food, and the sitting around in the sunshine hanging out with each other)
Join us at Laurelbank Farm for a day of farming, learning, feasting, resting, singing and everything in between.
Date and Time: Saturday 6th June 2026 - 10am to 3pm
The plan: We'll start the day in the Gallery (or Courtyard if the sun is out) with tea/coffee and a wee snack, but before long we'll head off to do the many activities we have planned for the day:
Ross (aka "The Moth Man") will be running the Grand Moth Trap Opening. (This sounds weird but was a highlight of many people's when we did the same last year) and teaching us the delights and beauty of the world of moths. Be prepared to fall in love with the most undervalued group of insects...
Dee will be giving us a Kimchee Making Demonstration. Welcome to the huge and diverse world of Korean fermented cabbage (and other things)
Claire will be running a Nature-inspired Yoga session (for adults and children). Bring a yoga mat for yourself or someone to borrow if you have one.
Aisling will be running a Singing Circle - singing on farms isn't really a big thing. But it should be!!
Alan (and others from our Willow Club) will be weaving willow. Come and learn the wonderful Art of Willow Weaving and make yourself a magic wand or willow swift!
Cat will be farming! Planting tomatoes and squash and courgettes, amongst other things. If you just want to Get your Hands in the Soil, that will absolutely be encouraged
The strawberries might just start to have some ripe fruit on them. I'm hopefully the Hunt for the First Ripe Strawberry will occupy many kids for a long time (all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times!!)
And of course, no farm & feast day would be complete without a farm tour. Jo will be leading a "Pick your own" / Foraging Tour around the farm. This will be of interest to any of our CSA members (who are invited to pick something themselves each week when they collect their veg boxes) who aren't yet familiar with the mint patch, the sorrel bank, the sloe hedge or the wild garlic zone!
There will be no shortage of things to do, but as always, if the sun is out and you want to sit in the courtyard, absorb the farming vibes, drink tea and relax, that will absolutely be encouraged.
The food: Ash will be making pizza. And we'll have garlic bread and salad from the farm for those who like to eat things other than just pizza! And pudding - probably rhubarb-based!
The cost: £40 for adults, £20 for kids, £100 for a family of four (plus booking fees)!
If this is prohibitively expensive for anyone, there is a 50% discount available. Just use the code "halfpriceplease" is this applies to you. We want these days out at the farm to be accessible to as many people as possible.
Willow Club and Volunteer superstar, Alan being forced to be photographed by me!
