7:50pm - welcome words & an introduction to the evening
8pm - music, featuring the following artists
King Cedar
King Cedar is the moniker of Stephen Macartney, a folk songwriter based in Bangor, County Down. His debut EP 'The Hard Luck Anodyne' was released in 2018. His debut album 'Everything More, & Other Stories' was recorded and produced with Grammy Award winner Andre De Santanna in Los Angeles. ‘These are songs written through the lens of a life spent collecting stories through misadventure’ says Macartney. These musical snapshots combine the musical charm of Ireland with the road- weary philosophy of alternative American folk and stand as a testament to the earnest heart and rough-edged soul of King Cedar.
Erin K Hill
Inspired by traditions of folk music that bring people together around a story both shared and entirely individual, Erin K Hill’s songs are a mellow, yet poignant and honest telling of everyday struggles and triumphs. Raised in the soil of gospel and bluegrass, Erin grew her song craft under Scottish skies, before laying down roots in N. Ireland. She weaves threads of these places into her music through traditional songs, along with her own self-penned songs, accompanied by guitar, bodhrán, and shruti box.
Kevin Young
Kevin Young, based in County Down, writes and performs songs from the heart. Songs that have been crafted through reflections on the deeper side of life, that offer the listener an invitation to examine their own lived experiences. His debut EP ‘Painted Sun’ was released in 2019. His debut album ‘Lonely Demon’ was released in 2021 and his second is due in early 2027.
